Our goal is to address the technical issues for designing and developing Human-centered Intelligent Systems for Autonomous Vehicles by fusing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) technologies. To this end, we are conducting interdisciplinary research that combines various fields such as Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Extended Reality (XR), and Interaction Design.

Major Research Fields

  • Human-centered Intelligent Systems for Autonomous Vehicles
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Autonomous Vehicles
  • Human-Machine Interaction
  • Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS)
  • Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)
  • Computer-Aided Design & Manufacturing (CAD/CAM)

Research Activities

  • A Study on Mode Confusion in Multi-level Autonomous Vehicles, Funded by National Research Foundation (NRF). (2020~Present)
  • Detection of Surrounding Vehicles Using Deep Neural Network & Fusion of Panoramic Camera & LIDAR Sensor, Funded by Ministry of Education. (2019)
  • Development of Deep Learning based Driver Intent Inference System on Highways, Funded by National Research Foundation (NRF). (2017~2019)
