KUUVe stands for Kookmin University Unmanned Vehicle. It is a student club where members interested in autonomous driving gather to conduct research and participate in various autonomous driving competitions.
KUUVe is a research and development club dedicated to advancing autonomous driving technologies and striving for their commercialization. The club is divided into two teams: the Perception Team and the Control Team. The Perception Team focuses on object detection using AI, as well as obstacle recognition and avoidance using LiDAR sensors. The Control Team works on algorithms for vehicle control, such as localization and steering angle computation, tailored to different platforms.
Our activities focus on directly implementing and validating algorithms using autonomous driving platforms at 1/10, 1/5, 1/4, and 1/2 scales. We explore the full pipeline of autonomous driving—perception, decision-making, and vehicle control—by experimenting with real sensor data on these platforms. Additionally, we actively utilize simulations to reproduce various scenarios and to design and refine our algorithms.
KUUVe actively participates in various external activities to build practical skills in autonomous driving technology. By taking part in competitions based on autonomous driving platforms and simulation environments, members go beyond theory and gain valuable hands-on experience. Furthermore, the club pursues academic depth by publishing technical achievements and research findings in professional conferences such as the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers.
KUUVe is driven by a strong passion for autonomous driving, a progressive mindset for a better future, and a spirit of community aimed at growing together. Guided by these values, we continue to take bold steps forward, overcoming challenges without fear and paving our own path through persistent effort.
